Padlocks are an excellent and convenient way to add a locking ability to many diverse objects that might not otherwise be able to be secured. A common example is an item of luggage; many holidaymakers and travellers today need to secure their luggage in an effort to keep valuable items safe during journeys. A padlock makes for an easy way to hold together the zips on a typical suitcase and therefore prevent interference from third parties, at least without some effort on their part to break open the padlock. A padlock is also a great mobile security solution to a locker cabinet, just add the padlock to the locker door using the door latch and you have a locker lock that enables safe storage of personal items in public locker rooms.  The ASEC brass combination padlock is a four-wheel device, which provides 9,999 total possible combinations, meaning that it would be almost impossible for a criminal to run through the combinations to find the right one. A combination lock is ideal for mobile solutions, because it removes the need for a key, thus overcoming the possibility of losing the key and being unable to open the locker lock. A combination lock can also be opened by anyone who has been told the code; so multiple people can use it without having to make a copy of the key. Keeping spare keys in a safe place has always been a problem. On the one hand, it helps to have spare keys in a place where you can gain easy access to them if needed, while on the other hand it is very difficult to have such a place without making the keys vulnerable to theft by anyone who happens to find them. Typically, people use hiding places such as under or behind doormats, flowerpots, loose stones or bricks to hide their spare keys. Of course, none of these places will fool an experienced thief, who will know exactly where to look for spare keys.  This issue is also relevant in the case of special keys, such as those required to access sensitive areas when you wish to keep the key separate from the main key-chain. We have added a new feature to the Key Search function. Once you have confirmed the Key Series you require, customers will be directed to a new page. On this page, you will be able to add a list of key numbers - providing they are all in the same series. Also, in due course all the key ranges will display a sample key picture as a visual confirmation of the type of key being ordered. Our next planned improvement is an upload function where customers will be able to order lists of keys in spreadsheet format. The two major benefits will be that it saves the customer having to type all the keys onto the website as well as reducing the risk of errors. Furthermore, we will be able to transmit the key data directly to our specialist key cutting equipment including the recently acquired Silca Protech semi-automatic machine. We are always seeking to improve on what we do and any feedback or suggestions are really appreciated. | ||

Every workplace and home has a degree of security. Some places need more than others and this is where specialised lock types come in. A good lock is worthless if its key is not kept secure, therefore, if there are special items that need careful access supervision, then a key safe would be a good investment. This is especially the case when access is to be restricted to specific individuals. Traditional key safes generally take the form of reinforced boxes that are secured by their own locks. These are perfectly adequate as long as the master key can be kept secure. However, such safes will require supervision of the access key and this may be problematic in situations where more than one person needs to be able to use the keys. In this case, a combination lock design is the logical choice.  A combination lock provides security that does not require a key to gain access. As long as the users know the combination, that is all that is needed to lock and gain access to the key safe.
