ASEC 4 wheel brass combination padlock 40mm
Tags: Combination locks

Padlocks are an excellent and convenient way to add a locking ability to many diverse objects that might not otherwise be able to be secured. A common example is an item of luggage; many holidaymakers and travellers today need to secure their luggage in an effort to keep valuable items safe during journeys. A padlock makes for an easy way to hold together the zips on a typical suitcase and therefore prevent interference from third parties, at least without some effort on their part to break open the padlock. A padlock is also a great mobile security solution to a locker cabinet, just add the padlock to the locker door using the door latch and you have a locker lock that enables safe storage of personal items in public locker rooms.

The ASEC brass combination padlock is a four-wheel device, which provides 9,999 total possible combinations, meaning that it would be almost impossible for a criminal to run through the combinations to find the right one. A combination lock is ideal for mobile solutions, because it removes the need for a key, thus overcoming the possibility of losing the key and being unable to open the locker lock. A combination lock can also be opened by anyone who has been told the code; so multiple people can use it without having to make a copy of the key. The ASEC combination padlock is 40mm long and sturdily constructed using solid brass and steel.

Comsafe NSK-1 emergency key safe

Keeping spare keys in a safe place has always been a problem. On the one hand, it helps to have spare keys in a place where you can gain easy access to them if needed, while on the other hand it is very difficult to have such a place without making the keys vulnerable to theft by anyone who happens to find them. Typically, people use hiding places such as under or behind doormats, flowerpots, loose stones or bricks to hide their spare keys. Of course, none of these places will fool an experienced thief, who will know exactly where to look for spare keys.

This issue is also relevant in the case of special keys, such as those required to access sensitive areas when you wish to keep the key separate from the main key-chain. Key boxes provide the simplest and best solution to these problems. Key boxes are specialised containers with the specific function of keeping a spare or special key safe, yet readily accessible when required. The crucial difference between a key box and the typical key hiding place is that the key box is lockable. So, for example, if you have a key to a safe deposit box or emergency cash box that you wish to keep separate, simply put it in a box such as the Comsafe Emergency Keycase NS. This ensures the key is kept safe and adds a further level of security to the process of gaining access to it, which will help deter potential thieves.

New Key Search Page
Tags: Replacement keys

We have added a new feature to the Key Search function. Once you have confirmed the Key Series you require, customers will be directed to a new page. On this page, you will be able to add a list of key numbers - providing they are all in the same series. Also, in due course all the key ranges will display a sample key picture as a visual confirmation of the type of key being ordered.

Our next planned improvement is an upload function where customers will be able to order lists of keys in spreadsheet format. The two major benefits will be that it saves the customer having to type all the keys onto the website as well as reducing the risk of errors. Furthermore, we will be able to transmit the key data directly to our specialist key cutting equipment including the recently acquired Silca Protech semi-automatic machine.

We are always seeking to improve on what we do and any feedback or suggestions are really appreciated.

Briton 9160 digital push button mechanical lock
Tags: Combination locks, door locks , locks

Every workplace and home has a degree of security. Some places need more than others and this is where specialised lock types come in. The Briton 9160 digital combination lock range has all the key features of a mechanical push button combination lock, but at a reduced cost, making it ideal for companies operating to a tight budget and that need to reduce overheads. It is perfect for environments where several people need to be able to access a single area, but where the volume of use is perhaps not that high. For high volume use, a more expensive model may be needed with greater durability. Nevertheless this model is a great value door lock that is very practical for securing common areas.

Key locks are a great choice for securing items and areas, however the loss of a key is a critical compromise to security; choose a combination lock for applications where the loss of a key is an increased factor. Door locks that need to be accessed by more than one person on a regular basis will benefit from the installation of a door lock that does not rely on a physical key. When the door locks with a combination, the area secured is only accessible to those who are given the combination. Because there are over 8,000 combinations possible with the 9160, there is practically no chance of correctly guessing the code at random. The code is changeable by the user and all items required for its installation are included.

Rottner SK series key safes

Organisation is an important yet often overlooked part of security. Think of it this way, if nobody knows where everything is, then unwanted third parties could well have their hands on crucial items such as access keys. Of course, even the strongest lock is rendered completely useless if an unauthorised individual has got hold of the key, so key security is really just as important as lock security. By combining key security with organisation, using a key safe, you greatly enhance the efficacy of your home or firm's security measures. SK series key safes are a solid example of the type of key safes you can use to take care of these two aspects of security in one swoop.

The SK series key safe is easy to integrate with the work or home environment. It is wall mountable, which makes it a permanent fixture that is hard for thieves to remove, further adding to the security of the safe. It is made of high quality metal sheeting that is resistant to attempts to open the safe by force. This helps to ensure that only key holders can gain access and the keys are kept securely inside. For the purposes of organisation, the SK series safes incorporate built in key racks on several surfaces, meaning that many keys may be stored in an organised fashion without the safe having a large footprint. The internal key racks feature a numbering system, so that each key has its own number; a key index is also provided.

Keytronic electronic key safe series
Tags: Key Cabinets, key boxes, key safes, key safe, key box, key cupboard, key cabinet

A good lock is worthless if its key is not kept secure, therefore, if there are special items that need careful access supervision, then a key safe would be a good investment. This is especially the case when access is to be restricted to specific individuals. Traditional key safes generally take the form of reinforced boxes that are secured by their own locks. These are perfectly adequate as long as the master key can be kept secure. However, such safes will require supervision of the access key and this may be problematic in situations where more than one person needs to be able to use the keys. In this case, a combination lock design is the logical choice.

Keytronic electronic key safe
A combination lock provides security that does not require a key to gain access. As long as the users know the combination, that is all that is needed to lock and gain access to the key safe. It is simply a matter of telling the users what the combination is and they will be able to open the box without worrying about losing a master key. The Keytronic Electronic Key Safe series features an electronic combination. This has the advantage of offering up to eight digit combinations, meaning there are around 100 million possible combinations, which makes it almost impossible for a thief to break the code. The safe features a one-wall design with key racks and pre-drilled wall mounting holes. Construction is metal with a fire crease and solid hinges.
