Digilock 6G Manager Key - KEY-D6-MGR-00-01

The Digilock KEY-D6-MGR-00-01 Manager Key is an electronic management credential designed to provide authorised staff with management and override access to compatible Digilock electronic locks.

Once registered to a compatible lock using a Digilock Programming Key, the Manager Key can be used for day-to-day administration, management inspection and lock override. It can also provide external power to compatible locks where the internal batteries are unable to operate the lock normally.

What Does a Digilock Manager Key Do?

The Manager Key is designed for authorised personnel responsible for the day-to-day management of Digilock electronic locking systems.

Unlike the Programming Key, which is primarily used for initial setup and registering management credentials, the Manager Key is intended to be used regularly by facilities staff and administrators.

Management Override

The Manager Key can override normal user access on compatible Digilock locks. This enables authorised staff to open a locker or cabinet when necessary for management, inspection or support purposes.

Management Inspection

Facilities staff can use a registered Manager Key to gain authorised access to compatible storage units without needing the individual user's normal access credential.

External Power

The Manager Key can provide external power to compatible Digilock electronic locks. This means authorised staff can access and manage a lock even where the lock's internal battery power is insufficient for normal operation.

Managing User Credentials

On compatible Assigned Use Digilock systems, a valid Manager Key can be used as part of the process for adding, removing or replacing user credentials.

Depending on the lock configuration, user credentials may include keypad codes, electronic User Keys or compatible mobile access credentials.

Multiple Manager Keys

Compatible Digilock systems can be configured with multiple Manager Keys, allowing several authorised members of staff to manage the same group of locks.

This makes Manager Keys particularly useful for larger facilities where responsibility for lockers or cabinets is shared between several members of staff.

Shared Use and Assigned Use

Digilock electronic locks can be configured for different styles of operation depending on the application.

• Shared Use: a locker or cabinet is temporarily secured by a user and becomes available to another user once it has been opened.
• Assigned Use: a specific user or group is assigned permanent or semi-permanent access to a particular locker or cabinet.

A registered Manager Key provides management access independently of the normal user credential on compatible installations.
